Southern California Summer 2021

OCEAN & BEACH ACTIVITIES

Estimated Time of Trave: Between 20 and 30 Minutes

San Diego is primarily known for two things, beautiful year round weather and beautiful beaches.

The San Diego County coastline starts at the border with Mexico and runs north to Orange County. In between are over 100 named beaches with a lot of diversity and opportunity for both the most thrilling and relaxing activities.

Some of the best known waterfront hoods are Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Sunset Cliffs, Ocean Beach, and La Jolla. Just across San Diego Bay is the island and city of Coronado. South of San Diego is Imperial Beach and beaches near the Tijuana River Estuary. North of San Diego you will find several wonderful coastal cities with fabulous beaches. These north county cities south to north are Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside.

Several beaches in the county have famous piers to enjoy and the urban beaches have shops nearby.

Any visit you take to this area will have plenty of activities for you to do.  Some of  the ocean activities you can enjoy are: boating, wave-running, parasailing, surfing, paddle-boarding, and hiking on trails along the coast.
